Day 91:XM Liquid Metal - XM 42

Returning back to the Rock channels, the Bootcamp visits XM Liquid Metal, a channel that has returned to XM. Actually, it returned to the satellites; it was on XM on-line since 2004.

XM Liquid Metal plays heavy metal. When it originally was on XM Radio it plays nearly all death metal. It still plays death metal, but now the channel has been "fine tuned". It plays more earlier heavy metal music. It once again has live DJ's who used to be on Liquid Metal. The three are Ward Cleaver (the Program Director), Manny and Coolguy (the latter two were on Boneyard while Ward was on SquiZZ). As far as I know there are no programs featured at the present time.

Some songs I heard were "Mass Hypnosis" by Sepultura, "Institutionalized" by Suicidal Tendencies, "Skeleton Dance" by Arch Enemy, "Night Crawler" by Judas Priest, "I Will Be Heard" by Hatebreed, "Ode to the Fallen Hereos" by God Forbid, "Rust in Peace...Polaris" by Megadeth and "Babylon" by Soulfly.

Do I think the "fine tuned" Liquid Metal is better? I'm not sure. There is more variety in the music but it also seems like it has lost its edge a bit. At times it sounds like I'm listening to Boneyard. I guess Liquid Metal is fine. I'm not a big fan of heavy metal music but I'll tune in from time to time.
